cbm is an international Christian development organization, committed to improving the quality of life of persons with disabilities in the poorest countries of the world.
These are the most forgotten people in the world.
Children who aren’t given the chance to go to school because they can’t see, can’t walk or can’t hear. Moms and dads who can’t apply for mainstream development programs, because disability without support and training makes them a “poor investment”.
These are the poorest 500 million people in the world. We are helping them because God’s wide and deep love calls us to.
Our goal is to rescue and restore these people – giving children hope, taking whole families and communities out of grinding poverty, and building a bridge between them and their communities. Setting them free... for life!

Gifts of Registered Retirement Funds
You can’t take it with you…
When it comes to RRSPs and RRIFs, you can either give them away at death or they’ll be taxed away!
FACT: When there is no spousal rollover, an RRSP/RRIF is the most heavily taxed asset in an estate.
FACT: The balance of an RRSP/RRIF is taxed as income upon death of the second spouse.
FACT: Up to 40% of the RRSP/RRIF can be taxed away.
Since 2001, gifting an RRSP/RRIF to cbm provides a charitable receipt at death.
FACT: A cbm donation receipt would completely offset all taxes payable.
FACT: Gifting an RRSP/RRIF to cbm will… reduce probate, legal, and executor fees; preserve family privacy through direct payment; give the wonderful gifts of sight and life to impoverished men, women and children in developing countries.
For more information on Gifts of Registered Retirement Funds, please contact the Planned Giving department at 1-800-567-2264 or email plannedgiving@cbmcanada.org or fill out our online RRSP/RRIF Form.
The Federal Budget of May 2, 2006 has done away with ALL tax on capital gains for donations of publicly listed shares to public charities.
That means, when you donate appreciated shares to cbm, you pay no taxes on the (sometimes huge) capital gains that have built up in those shares. And you receive a receipt for the full value of your gift!
The bottom line: you pay less tax on your overall income for the year. And you make miracles of life and hope possible for some of the poorest people in the world.
If you’ve been looking for a way to make the most of your appreciated shares, but have feared the taxable capital gain you’d be adding to your income, this is the perfect time to donate your shares TAX FREE and make the world a better and brighter place.
NB: It’s very important to gift the securities “IN KIND”. Don’t sell them first.
Your broker can transfer your shares or units electronically directly into cbm ’s brokerage account. Or, you can gift your shares to cbm through a paper share certificate.
Either way, we can help you donate your shares quickly and easily.
…Great Tax Savings
...Great Opportunity to Give
…Great Alternative to Giving Cash
To transfer the shares electronically to cbm's account, download our Direct Transfer Form.
