| Proj. Information: | Grace Children's Hospital is an important Clinic in Port au Prince for diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis, as well as a hospital for children with tuberculosis. An eye clinic was established for daily consultation and treatment within the hospital, referring surgeries to the University Hospital. Utilizing the existing infrastructure of the primary health care program, an eye care program was initiated, covering several parts of the country. |
| Current Situation: | Still standing, though suffered serious damage from the earthquake. The prevention of blindness programme has 15 staff, two are reported dead, 13 are alive. Almost all their houses suffered damages, some significant. Eye clinic building (constructed with help of FAZ) is in good shape, only minor damages. | Description: | Rehabilitation Centre for Mentally Disabled People CBR Program / Service Workshop |

| Proj. Information: | In Port au Prince, capital of Haiti, partner runs a program for early stimulation and care of mentally retarded children with parental involvement. Several workshops (ceramics, knit- ware, etc.) and integration program for children from rural and slum areas, including early detection of mental deficiencies. Training centre provides special program for educators, with greater emphasis on Community Based Rehabilitation work. Partner is extending services to other parts of the country. |
| Current Situation: | A programme for early detection, intervention and care for children with intellectual disabilities. The school is still standing, but has so many cracks in the walls and foundation it will have to be demolished. 2 of the staff members were killed in the quake. |

| Description: | School for the Deaf / Hearing Disabled Children Workshop |

| Proj. Information: | The partner runs in Port au Prince a special school for deaf and hard of hearing children, directed by catholic sisters. Two satellite schools in poor rural regions (St. Marc and Lavaud) are supported by cbm, as well as center with boarding facilities for deaf-blind and multiply disabled children, which is located in Croix de bouquet, outside of Port au Prince. |

| Proj. Information: | Partner is running a Community Based Rehabilitation project for blind and visually impaired. In different parts of the country Community Based Rehabilitation instructors (Orientation and Mobility, Daily Living Skills, Braille, etc.) are placed, providing basic education and rehabilitation. The extension of the rehabilitation program to rural areas includes detection of eye diseases. |

| Proj. Information: | The Catholic Church in the northern department of Cap-Haitien runs a center for poor families with the following main emphasis: medical check-ups, physiotherapy, referrals for orthopedic surgery, early stimulation of children, nutrition program, and involvement and education of the parents. Partner is improving and expanding the production in the orthopedic workshop and a widespread program in training of physiotherapists. |

| Proj. Information: | In a very populated part in the south of Haiti, the Methodist Church established an eye clinic with its own operation room. With cbm assistance, partner offers eye-care services and a prevention of blindness program for the entire region. Early detection is carried out through school screening and public awareness programs. |

| Proj. Information: | The most important eye care program of Haiti is based in the University Hospital of Port au Prince. Beside the general eye care services with 24 hours attention, the unit serves as a referral center for cataract surgery and for training of ophthalmologists. Most of its outreach programs in various parts of the country are becoming independent projects and are functioning regularly for consultation and surgery. |

| Proj. Information: | The Ear, Nose and Throat Unit based in the University Hospital of Port au Prince provides consultation and surgery in order to reduce avoidable hearing loss. Implementation of a National Program for training of medical professionals in Ear, Nose and Throat is in place and will be integrated into the country's national health system. Primary Health Care is an important component of the program focusing on screening and basic ear care in rural communities, for prevention purposes. |

| Proj. Information: | The Methodist Church in Haiti has maintained this eye care program during several years mainly with support from visiting teams from the United States. This project located in Jeremy, southwest of Haiti is now generally attended by local ophthalmologists. Because of the great need in this extremely poor part of the country it is planned to extend services toward the whole department of De La Grande Anse. |

Information: | This coordination office under the roof of Productive Cooperatives Haiti has been established to function as link between projects in Haiti and the Regional Office Mexico as well as Head Office Germany. It will help cbm supported projects to fulfill their administrative requirements as well as to smooth procedures between the German purchase agency (WEM) and supported projects. Furthermore, the office will assist with the coordination and implementation of planned programs (co funding, 3-5 year plans, etc) as well as with the identification of new programs. |

| Proj. Information: | This project has been initiated by co-worker Henselmeyer from the Grace Children Hospital, P579, in the late 90's as an outreach program. Meanwhile it was extended by Dr. Ritza Eugene and Dr. Guerline Roney. In partnership with International Child Care, project Eye Care Northern Haiti will be based at the St. Justinien Hospital located in Cap Haitian. It will provide outreach clinics in the northern part of the country in the areas of Grande Rivière, Port Margot, Bahon, Bas-Limbé and Gonaïves. |

| Proj. Information: | This project used to be an outreach program from the University Hospital of Haiti. It will become independent in 2007 and partner will be the Episcopal Church of Haiti. Cange receives support from the American NGO Partners in Health since long time ago. They will continue supporting the project in terms of running costs and providing technical assistance when needed. This eye clinic is well equipped and it is expected that this program will provide eye care services in the Plateau Central department; currently they are extending the services to Cerca la Source as an outreach program. |
